1. The panic
For weeks, you've been banging on about the importance to vote in the EU referendum and how it's one of the most defining moments in British history.
You've written about it on Twitter, tutted at friends who are still undecided and have even set a reminder on your phone.
Amid the build up, you have a sudden panic, 'Wait, I did register...didn't I?'
2. The final check
The night before, you double check you're 100 per cent clued up on how you're voting.
Cue hours in front of the television scrolling through several news tabs to check the For/Against arguments.
You haven't got time for doubts at this stage.
3. The social media post
For weeks, all you've seen on social media is celebrities like Alexa Chung, Emma Watson and Vivienne Westwood post images of themselves urging you to vote.
In the queue to the polling station, you can't help but sneak in a cheeky Snapchat and Instagram post to let your 'fans' know you're making history.
4. The reassurance
Despite being an adult, you make a quick phone call to your parents to check you're all voting the same.
You don't want to be the black sheep of the family.
5. The giggles
You catch the eye of your housemate in the next queue and burst into a fit of giggles at the seriousness of it all.
6. The exam feeling
Putting pen to paper, you suddenly question whether the voting slip is in fact a universal test to see how clever you are.
You're transported back to sitting your G.C.S.E Science and having to read over the questions seven times to check they're not tricking you with a double negative.
You look around the room for help but end up ticking a box and hoping for the best.
7. The smugness
You did it. You ticked that form, slipped it in the box and can now walk out of there with the wind in your hair because you just ruled the world.
You take a selfie in front of the polling station sign.
You earned it.
8. The Whatsapp pings
The second you get home, you frantically start messaging your friends to share your voting experiences and check you all voted.
No one wants to have that friend who forgot.
9. The Jeremy Vine love
The night before the results, you turn on the BBC in the hope that Jeremy Vine will once again be leaping across the television in front of a green screen like he did on election night in 2015.
Come on Jeremy!
10. The butterflies
The results are in. It all comes down to this one moment.
Will you be whipping out the Pimms with your friends in celebration or researching 'Should I move to Canada?' on Google.
You can barely contain your nervous excitement so have to take a few moments to be by yourself.
