Samira Wiley is probably best known to you as the librarian, moonshine-making, Teutophile, 'Poussey' from the Netflix game-changer Orange Is The New Black.

Having left her breakout role, she will be joining TV and film stalwart Elizabeth Moss on an American streaming service's adaptation of Margaret Atwood's The Handmaiden's Tale.

The novel (written in 1985) was set in a future, dystopian Northern America, which would be circa round-about now.

Atwood's vision is hauntingly close to reality, with Islamaphobia making way for extreme right-wing politics to claim greater control of the population in the country, called Gilead.

Elizabeth Moss, famous for her role in The West Wing and then that badass copywriter in Mad Men, will be playing the protagonist Offred, whilst Wiley will be her confidant Ofglen.

The two women, being punished for previous 'crimes', are both Handmaids, which are a class of fertile women forced to act as concubines for the elite.

The series is rumoured to be released in 2017, so you have one year to brush up on your GCSE English.
