John Legend Tells the Story of How He Fell in Love with Chrissy Teigen

John Legend and Chrissy Teigen's relationship is one we love to love. And their "how we got together" story only makes us ship them even harder.

John Legend spoke with ET on Friday while promoting his upcoming film, Southside With You, which depicts the early chapters of Barack and Michelle Obama's love story. During the interview, he couldn't help but gush about his own fairytale romance with Chrissy Teigen.

"I started to fall in love with her over the phone because she is good with those 140 characters," Legend said playfully of his early encounters with the Sports Illustrated model. "She's so good and she's so clever. And I started to see that right away with her, and I was like, 'Wow, she's really impressive.'"

(All jokes aside, Chrissy Teigen is the best thing about Twitter.)

"We were texting a lot, and I started to see her sense of humor," the singer recalled. "We would talk on the phone, and I just started to fall in love with how engaging and witty and funny she is. And I think that's when I really started to know that this was the kind of person I wanted to around a lot. Once we started spending more time together between tour stops and all this other stuff, we realized we had such a connection—and then it blossomed into a marriage and a baby!"

He continued: "I wasn't nervous about it. When you feel a real connection with somebody—for me, it wasn't nerves, it was more like excitement. 'Oh, this could be great.'"

How comforting is it to know that Chrissy and John started off with a text-and-tweet-driven connection sort of just like you and your latest Tinder match. (There's hope yet!) If these two aren't #RelationshipGoals, I don't know what is. I mean, just look at them:
