A public memorable for Carrie Fisher and Debbie Reynolds is reportedly being planned by family members of the iconic mother-daughter duo, and it has the potential to turn into a star-studded Hollywood event.

Meryl Streep, who was said to be a close friend of Fisher's and starred in her autobiographical 1990 film, Postcards from the Edge, has been asked to give the keynote address at the public memorial, according to TMZ. Some of Fisher's Star Wars cast members, such as Mark Hamill, are also expected to attend and pay tribute to their late co-star.

There is no set date for the public memorial, but the private funeral service for Fisher and Reynolds will be held on Thursday at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Glendale, California, where the two are expected to be buried next to each other, according to TMZ. As of now, there are no serious plans for Billie Lourd, the daughter of Fisher and the granddaughter of Reynolds, to speak at the funeral, but she is driving force behind the public memorial.

The public memorial is also said to include Reynolds classic costumes from Singing In The Rain, and possibly Fisher's Star Wars costumes as well. It's a fitting tribute for Reynolds, who fought to preserve some of Hollywood's most famous outfits.
