Netflix just released the first trailer for its upcoming series Dear White People today, teasing a new show that's more relevant now than ever.

The show revolves around Samantha White, a biracial student at a predominantly-white Ivy League college, who addresses racial issues on campus with her radio show, Dear White People. The 10-episode series, based on the 2014 Justin Simien film of the same name, "satirizes 'post-racial' America," the synopsis states. In addition to probing modern racial tensions, the show also explores themes like interracial relationships and homosexuality among black men.

Dear White People was met with criticism earlier this year when Netflix released a 30-second teaser that featured White outlining acceptable Halloween costumes for her white audiences and urged them to avoid blackface. Conservative viewers criticized the clip—and the show—for being "anti-white" and some even promised to boycott Netflix as a result.

But Netflix somewhat addressed the backlash with a disclaimer that plays in the beginning of the trailer: "Trigger warning: the following program is meant for both white and black audiences. And every other color imaginable."

Dear White People premieres on Netflix on April 28. Watch the trailer below.
