National treasure Sir David Attenborough has admitted his only career regret was missing out on time with his children.
The 91-year-old Planet Earth presenter – whose incredible career has spanned over 60 years – said his job often took him away from home when his two children, Susan and Robert, were growing up.
'I really shouldn't regret anything, because I've been just so unbelievably lucky,' the broadcaster and naturalist told Louis Theroux for the Radio Times.
'But if I do have regrets, it is that when my children were as young as your children, I was away for three months at a time.
'If you have a child of six or eight and you miss three months of his or her life, it's irreplaceable. You miss something.
'Perhaps you can't have your cake and eat it,' he added.

Attenborough added that his wife Jane – to whom he was married until her death in1997 – was always very 'understanding' about his demanding career.
He also told journalist and documentary maker Theroux that after his 91st birthday, he now thinks about his own mortality 'all the time', because 'it's more and more likely that I'm going to die tomorrow'.
When Theroux asked if he expects anything to happen after death, he replied with a simple: 'No.'
Speaking about climate change and global warming, he continued: 'We should be very, very worried about it... the land is being scorched, deserts are spreading, and the seas are warming - all those factors cause great changes in our fortunes.'
And when asked which animal he felt a kinship with, Sir David replied: 'That has to be an ape. Because our kinship is a reality. I don't feel it with a mosquito or, indeed, a whale.'
Just reading Attenborough's words gives us that feel warm, fuzzy feeling inside.
