Damien Chazelle, the Oscar-winning director of La La Land, is creating a musical series for Netflix called The Eddy. The eight-episode series will be set and shot in Paris, with dialogue in English, French, and Arabic. The plot focuses on a Parisian club, the lives of its owner, the house band, and the city that surrounds them.

Chazelle has formed an A-team to work alongside him on the show. Jack Thorne, the BAFTA-winning writer who also penned Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, is on board, while Emmy-winning producer Alan Poul (Six Feet Under, The Newsroom) will executive produce the show.

The show will have music by Glen Ballard, who famously collaborated with Alanis Morissette on Jagged Little Pill.

In a statement, Chazelle said, "I've always dreamed of shooting in Paris, so I'm doubly excited to be teaming up with Jack, Glen and Alan on this story, and thrilled that we have found a home for it at Netflix."
