British actor and dream human Idris Elba says that while co-hosting the 2016 Met Gala wasn't the most stressful night of his life, it was also "a bit awkward" because of the "beef" between Taylor Swift and Kanye West. The Star Trek Beyond actor played a game of "Confirm Or Deny" during his interview with The New York Timestoday and addressed the awkward moment when Swift and West's worlds collided in the same room.

"It was great," Elba said. "I felt really famous that day. It was a bit awkward because Taylor Swift and I had to present an award. We were walking through the crowd and obviously, there was a little beef between Taylor and Kanye. I didn't know any of this. But I was there! And I was, like, 'Oh, this is awks.'"

To refresh your memory, the longstanding feud between Kanye West and Taylor Swift reached an all-time high just before the Met Gala, in which Swift and Elba co-hosted. Kanye had just released The Life of Pablo on February 14, 2016 and on the track "Famous," he included the lyric "I feel like me and Taylor might still have sex/Why? I made that bitch famous." A spokeswoman for Swift then said that Swift never approved the lyric while West claimed otherwise. Swift called him out during her Grammys acceptance speech.
