Ever the Twitter doyenne, JK Rowling has taken down Donald Trump Jr after he used his daughter to make a derogatory remark about socialism.
The President's son said that he was going to give his daughter's Halloween sweets to another child who sits at home because "it's never too early to teach her about socialism" - an unimaginative jibe often thrown at the political ideology that benefits are wasted on 'scroungers'.
The tweet backfired after numerous social media users - including JK Rowling - responded highlighting the inherited wealth of Donald Junior, and Donald Senior. The President was made a rich man after the death of his father, US real estate developer Fred Trump.
John Legend was also among high-profile Twitter users to respond.
Donald Trump Jr has yet to comment further.
