The crew behind Stranger Things is facing criticism for the way in which a kissing scene between two of the young characters came about.

If you've already binge watched the entire second season, then you will know that new character Max (played by Sadie Sink) shares a kiss with Lucas (Caleb McLaughlin) at the Snow Ball dance. On Beyond Stranger Things (an accompanying programme in which the cast and crew discuss the episodes) they all talked about how the kiss came about – and it has raised some eyebrows.

Sink and McLaughlin were joined by Gaten Mararazzo (Dustin) and creators Matt and Ross Duffer on the show. As they discuss the kissing scene, Sink admits that she felt really nervous beforehand because the kiss wasn't originally in the script. Ross then says it was Sink's fault that the kiss happened because when he initially joked that she was going to have to do it, her reaction was " so strong" and she was "so freaked" that he felt he just had to put it in.

Many watchers took to social media to criticise Duffer for his decision to put the kiss in and take advantage of Sink feeling so "stressed".

With this all of this playing out at the same time as so many accounts of underage sexual harassment in Hollywood are surfacing and just weeks after Stranger Things' Finn Wolfhard fired his agent (who has been accused of sexual harassment), it makes for particularly uncomfortable viewing.
