'So I'm really excited. I hope you are too. And I can't wait to see you, can't wait to see them, I'm really excited about the whole thing in general.'

Cabello is a long-standing squad member. She's shared Swift birthday tributes for the last two years:

For Swift's birthday this year, Cabello wore Reputation merch and shared a Snapchat of herself in the outfit. The first hint, fans can say in hindsight, that something bigger was happening.

Cabello performed with Swift during the 1989 world tour, though with Fifth Harmony when the girls were all still together. Cabello separated from the group and released her first solo album on January 12, 2018.

Charli XCX tweeted her general excitement, confirming the news herself. The singer, like Cabello, was a guest during Swift's last tour as well.

The Reputation world tour, which Swift is deep in rehearsals for now, kicks off May 8. Swift's announcement of her opening acts comes after rumours of Cabello performing on the tour spread across news outlets. Us Weekly reported this morning that Cabello was in final talks to do the gig.
