Comedians Amy Schumer and Seth Rogen have joined forces to tackle the stupidity of the gender pay gap and so-called 'pink tax'.

As part of a series of parody adverts mocking the US presidential campaign by beer giant Bud Light, the comedic duo are seen empathically agreeing that unequal pay is wrong.

'Women don't get paid as much as men and that is wrong,' says Rogen, reflecting statistics that find the difference between the average hourly income of men and women in full-time employment in the UK to be 9.4 per cent.

However, the Knocked Up star becomes increasingly more shocked at hearing Schumer's explanation that women also pay more for the same consumer products men buy such as cars, dry cleaning, and shampoo.

'You pay more, but get paid less? That's double wrong!' he says, before rushing off to call his Mum.

However, 'Bud Light costs the same no matter if you're a dude or a lady,' says Schumer.

The advert is the latest in the 'Bud Light Party' campaign which recently announced its mock-run for presidency during this year's Super Bowl.

Vice President of Bud Light at Anheuser-Busch says: 'The Bud Light Party is about bringing people together and sparking national conversations around timely topics. In our newest spot, Seth and Amy have a colourful banter surrounding the matter of equal pay—which the Bud Light Party proudly supports.'

All jokes aside, for every share of the hashtag #CheersToEqualPay on social media, Bud Light promises to donate 75p to Catalyst, a US-based nonprofit organization that promotes workplace equality.
