The five nominees have just been announced, and they are... Laia Costa, Tom Holland, Lucas Hedges, Ruth Negga and Anya Taylor-Joy.
They were revealed this morning (January 5) by 2009's Rising Star Noel Clarke.
The publicly-voted honour celebrates the brightest young actor or actress "capturing the imagination of the British public".
The winner will receive the accolade from last year's champ Boyega at next month's 70th British Academy Film Awards.
British-born Boyega's star rose following his role as former storm trooper Finn in Star Wars: The Force Awakens, which he will reprise in Star Wars: Episode VIII.
The full list BAFTA nominations will be announced next Tuesday (January 10).
The 70th British Academy Film Awards will be hosted by Stephen Fry and take place on February 12 at London's Royal Albert Hall.
