Elton John just nabbed 'the job a million girls would kill for'.

After years of pleading for The Devil Wears Prada Broadway musical to become a reality (just us?) Variety has confirmed the production is finally happening, and it's booked two of the biggest names in music to write the stage version of the hit 2006 film.

I know, it's hard to believe it's been 10 years since we saw a bewildered, aspiring journalist Andy Sachs (Anne Hathaway) storm into editor-in-chief of fictional Runway fashion magazine Miranda Priestly's (Meryl Streep) office, in her polyblend ensemble, asking for a job as her co-assistant.

Cue quotes about the spelling of 'Gabbana', hideous skirt conventions and florals for spring.

Finally, the film is coming to the stage with the help of two key members of its creative team.

Elton John – who won a Grammy for The Lion King and a Tony for Billy Elliot – and Paul Rudnick – who wrote the screenplay for the romantic comedy In & Out – will join forces to write the show's storyline and music.

The show will reportedly be produced by Fox Stage Productions and Rocket Entertainment, the production company whose CEO is John's husband, David Furnish.

Someone fetch the Moët, we're celebrating.
