Are you near a chair? You might need to sit down. Disney announced today that Game of Thrones showrunners David Benioff and D.B. Weiss will be moving on from everyone's favorite swords-and-dragons show, Game of Thrones, to yet another genre favorite: Star Wars.

Benioff and Weiss have been tapped to write and produce a new series of Star Wars films. These will be separate from the Rian Johnson-helmed films—including, most recently, The Last Jedi—that have graced theatres of late. But little else is known about them, in true Star Wars fashion.

Recently, the duo's Confederate project, in development with HBO, was criticised for its premise of slavery never having been abolished in the United States. The Washington Post reported that 'though the show is still in development, the creators are not actively working on it.'

We've already seen a kind of GoT crossover with the Star Wars universe, with Emilia Clarke to star in the coming Solo: A Star Wars Story as Qi'Ra.

'In the summer of 1977 we traveled to a galaxy far, far away, and we've been dreaming of it ever since,' Benioff and Weiss said in a joint statement. 'We are honoured by the opportunity, a little terrified by the responsibility, and so excited to get started as soon as the final season of Game of Thrones is complete.'

The release date has not been announced yet.
