Sophie Turner; actor, 'queen of the north' and new mother, has become quite the tattoo aficionado over the past few years, as has her husband Joe Jonas.

Most of the Game of Thrones' actor's tattoos have symbolic meanings close to the 25-year-old's heart, like tributes to her family, commemorations of the award-winning show, her time in the X-Men franchise and matching tattoos with Jonas representing their union.

It looks like Turner's latest tattoo is an ode to her first daughter, who was born last summer. The couple have kept their pregnancy and parenting journey fairly private, including choosing not to confirm their daughter's name. However, recent pictures shared on Instagram by Turner have shown tattoos on her left inner wrist featuring the initials 'J' (for Joe) and 'W' which is widely presumed to refer to the couple's daughter's rumoured name, Willa.

Fans will also notice that on the Game of Thrones actor's wrist there are two initial tattoos: 'W' and 'J' presumably one for Willa and one for her husband.

She told Just Jared a few years ago: 'I got it when I was really missing them [my family] in Canada. It was on my birthday and it was me and one person. We were the only people there. And I was like, “I’m on my birthday and I woke up and my parents aren’t here and my family isn’t here” so I got this. I’m very tight with them.'

Another family-focussed tattoo for Turner is the triple triangle she has inked on her left arm. According to the actor, it's her favourite tattoo because it symbolises the sibling bond she shares with her brothers Will and James.

'It's three triangles, and it's Plato’s theory that the soul is comprised into three parts: reason, spirit, and appetite,' she told Refinery 29 in 019. 'Reason is my eldest brother James, spirit is my other brother Will, and I'm appetite. It means a lot to us, we've all got them. They're like my best friends in the world.'

On her upper thigh, Turner has a tattoo which looks like a woman's face. Speaking to ELLE UK as our cover star in 2020 to play 'It's A Mood', the actor admitted she was a little unsure about what exactly the portrait is.

'Don't ask me what it is,' she told us. 'It's a woman, I just don't know who it is or why it's there but I really like it.'

However, one person who is not a fan is her mother, who Turner said wants her to 'get rid of it'.

'It's not gonna happen Sally,' the star responded.
