Last year it was the Queen of England; this year the Pope.
Angelina Jolie yesterday travelled to the Vatican to host a special screening of her second directorial film, Unbroken, and, during her visit, had the honour of meeting Pope Francis.
Directed and produced by 39-year-old Jolie, Unbroken tells the life story of Olympian and WWII war hero Louis ‘Louie’ Zamperini.
‘To be invited to screen Unbroken at The Vatican is an honour and a tribute to Louie's legacy as a man of faith and someone who exemplified the power of forgiveness and the strength of the human spirit,’ said Jolie in a statement to E! News.
Jolie’s two eldest daughters, Shiloh and Zahara, were said to have made the trip with her, although no pictures have yet been released of them at the meet and greet.
