In case you missed it Miley Cyrus is ELLE’s October cover star (out September 3). She’s also, of course, the host of tonight’s MTV Video Music Awards.
When we caught up with our favourite star in LA a few weeks back we naturally asked her what we can expect from the show tonight, bar the nipple pasties – which it’s fair to assume are a guarantee.
‘I’m so stoked [to be presenting], she told us. Going on to compare what she has planned to her performance with Robin Thicke in 2013 she said, ‘Nothing we’re doing seems that crazy to me, but I thought that the first time, so I’m sure everyone will have a problem with it.’
We needed details, so asked what exactly she had in line for the night at the time of us talking; ‘Throughout the show there’s going be short videos - in one of them I’m going to have a sleep-over with a bunch of rappers and we’re all in bunk beds. And in another I’m going to do this cooking show where it’s me, Snoop Dogg, and my grandma, and we’re making munchies,’ she revealed.
Sounds predictably hilarious.
Miley also let us know that she’s been involved in all aspects of the show right from the start saying, ‘I’ve pretty much been directing it. Seth Rogen’s writing a lot of it, I did a movie of his that’s coming out in Christmas and liked his ideas.’
Obviously she’s got high hopes for the night telling us, ‘I hope people laugh a lot. And I hope people connect to it because most of the time with these types of shows you’re not really connected at all’.
Whatever she has in store, one thing's for certain it’ll be an amazing show.
