Twitter users, as we all know, can be a bit volcanic about things that they disagree with. So, as I'm sure you can imagine, the news that broke last night about Twitter's new changes to the 'favourite' system, has been met with a small (large) amount of resistance.

A blog post on Twitter's official website read: 'We are changing our star icon for favorites to a heart and we’ll be calling them likes. We want to make Twitter easier and more rewarding to use, and we know that at times the star could be confusing, especially to newcomers. You might like a lot of things, but not everything can be your favorite.'

They went on to write that a heart is more 'expressive' than a star and is a 'universal symbol that resonates across languages, cultures, and time zones.'
