One day before her court hearing to obtain a restraining order, Amber Heard received her divorce settlement from actor Johnny Depp and has kept her word by donating the seven million dollar sum to charity.
She has split the amount equally between two charities - the Children's Hospital of Los Angeles and the American Civil Liberties Union.
By not financially profiting from her marriage with the Pirates of the Caribbean star, Amber has silenced the critics who assumed that her accusations were purely cash motivated.
The American actress said that 'money played no role' in her reasoning to seek a divorce 'except to the extent that I could donate it to charity' to 'hopefully help those less able to defend themselves.'
In a joint final statement both Heard and Depp wished each other well and concluded that 'there was never any intent of physical or emotional harm.'
We hope they can move on their lives peacefully and that Heard can put the ordeal behind her knowing that despite what she has gone through, her generosity is a silver lining in a very dark cloud.
