Cornwall is home to many beautiful places, from its white sand beaches to the historic tine mines, but it's also where you'll find one of Britain's most magnificent gardens, the Lost Gardens of Heligan.

VISIT CORNWALL WITH THIS GREAT OFFER

This 'secret garden' was lost for decades and discovered by accident in 1990 - and it's filled with incredible sights. A must-visit in the UK during the summer and ideal for a romantic day trip or taking the kids for a fun day out if you're planning a holiday in Cornwall, it's a place you'll never forget.

Here, 200 acres of subtropical plants, ancient woodland and mysterious sculptures await. You'l find the friendly Mud Head and Mud Maid stone figures covered in moss and foliage - two of the most snapped sites in the attraction.

While here, you can climb trees and cross stepping stones, visit the glasshouses and veg gardens, and even the grotto.

There's so much to see and do here, and you'll feel like you've stepped into somewhere far more exotic than a UK attraction as you walk past banana trees, giant rhubarb and through towering bamboo.

Thanks to the Cornish coast’s near-tropical microclimate, you can also spot some bright and unusual plants.

The Jungle is one of its highlights that you won't want to miss, with its incredible foliage and Burmese rope bridge that you can walk across.

There's also a farm with rare breeds of cattle, sheep and pigs. Of course, in a garden this verdant you're bound to spot some wildlife along the way.

Visit the Lost Gardens of Heligan for free when booking a two-night break at The Lugger in Portloe, Cornwall.
