ART: Eddie Peake: The Forever Loop
Naked dancers, onesie-clad rollerskaters, acrylic bears… No, it’s not a Saturday night round our way (not the bears, anyway), it’s the unmissable Barbican installation by art-world darling Eddie Peake. Taking over the Curve gallery, for 10 hours a day performers in states of undress weave their way around plaster sculptures, scaffolding, replica whale bones – and you. Meanwhile, stencilled text spans the 90-metre curved wall, and TV screens, chaise longues and those bears abound. What does it all mean? Well, it’s about ‘unrequited desire, jealousy, love’. Duh.
