Plunging guests into a monogrammed Dior Dream Parade tent brimming with harlequin-print tulle, intricately beaded pantaloons and flying circus performers, Maria-Grazia brought all the fun of the fair with her signature surreal twist.

And yes, a dash of The Greatest Showman.

Creative And Image Director of Christian Dior Make-up, Peter Philips, took the fantastical theme and ran with it, transforming models into punk-meets-Pierrot clowns.

Philips created a velvety matte complexion using Dior Backstage Face & Body Foundation before applying grungey rings of jet black eyeliner with pointed teardrops.

The secret to getting your eyeliner to look the blackest of blacks? Layer it up. Philips applied both liquid and pencil eyeliner to achieve the hauntingly beautiful look.

Besides, when you're wearing a bejewelled Dior face net you need your gothic clown eyeliner to stand out.
