Update 29 August: ABC News reports Prince Harry and his girlfriend Meghan Markle have quietly crossed the border into Zambia during the final few days of their three-week trip in Africa.

Zambia newspapers are reporting the couple is planning to visit one of the seven natural wonders of the world, Victoria Falls.

Situated between the border of Zambia and Zimbabwe, the 354 falls along the Zambezi River can be seen via helicopter which, let's face it, would serve as the perfect location for a proposal.

Prince Harry is reportedly due to arrive back in London this week for an event on Wednesday on the eve of the 20th anniversary of his mother Princess Diana's death.

The prince and his brother, the Duke of Cambridge, are expected to make a special visit to the Kensington Palace memorial sunken garden to pay tribute to their late mother.

Earlier this month, news broke that Prince Harry has whisked his leading lady Meghan Markle for an African safari in Botswana, Africa to celebrate her 36th birthday and one year anniversary, a week after the Suits star spent a week in London with her mum and the prince.

Now US Weekly reports that two sources claim the 32-year-old royal 'intended to ask Markle for her hand in marriage' during their dream holiday, but is yet to confirm whether the proposal actually happened.

One source added that the prince intended to propose near the anniversary of his mother Princess Diana's death 'so he can associate August with something joyful'.

He's also previously described Botswana as his 'second home', so it makes sense for him to have asked Meghan to marry him in such a special place.

On touching down in Botswana, the prince - who reportedly has made sure Meghan can bypass passport control at UK airports and go straight to his car from the plane - had reportedly organised a big celebration for Meghan's arrival with his friends.

A source apparently told US Weekly that there was a barbecue set up at a friends house with lots music playing: 'The celebration began almost the minute they touched down.'

'Meghan was speechless and so touched,' they added.

However, much like Prince William and Kate Middleton who got engaged in October 2010 but waited almost a month to reveal their big news, it's suspected Prince Harry and his 36-year-old girlfriend might be keeping schtum on their wedding plans for as long as possible.

'Harry said he would want to enjoy the news between the two of them before word starts spreading out,' the same sourced admitted.

Right, someone fetch us a hat. We've got a wedding to plan.
