Emily Ratajkowski split from her husband of four years Sebastian Bear-McClard following an alleged cheating scandal last year, officially filing for divorce in September 2022, per Page Six.
Since, the 31-year-old mother-of-one has confirmed she has indeed 'gone on dates', and even been linked to Kim Kardashian's ex-boyfriend Pete Davidson, whom she reportedly dated for a few months before calling it quits.
The model has also reportedly dated the likes of Jack Greer and Eric André in recent months, but has spoken about the difficulties of 'casual dating' amid public scrutiny and the paparazzi. In a recent episode of her High Low podcast, Ratajkowski explained: 'I’ve been trying to casually date and not get cuffed up, and it’s been hard to do that and be kind of mindful of the people that I’m seeing.
'Any time I go on another date, everybody knows,' she continued. 'So the other guys I’m dating see it, and it has been kind of difficult because of course they’re like, "Didn’t talk to her last night," and then there’s pictures of me out to dinner with someone else. It sucks.'
Being photographed on dates 'screwed up' the natural process of getting to know those she is dating, said the model.
Ratajkowski went on to explain that she has found the experience 'tricky to navigate', causing her 'so much anxiety' and often provoking romances to fizzle out because 'the pressure of it all became so heightened'.
Last year the Gone Girl star, who shares one-year-old son Sylvester with Bear-McClard, opened up about her relationship status while fiercely discussing the patriarchy and the sexualisation of women.
'Under a patriarchy, there's this premise of men "getting women", "getting them", "pulling them" like there's something to posses,' Ratajkowski explained in a post on September 5.
She then added: 'As a recently single person who is thinking about dating and stuff, I've really seen that with my friends and with the conversations around it.'
The star stressed that comments about relationships should instead revolve around having a 'reciprocal mutual relationship where two people could potentially foster love'.
She affirmed: 'That's why we don't have a lot of love in cis-hetro relationships. [sic]'
Ratajkowski also reacted to a clip of psychotherapist Esther Perel talking about 'the secret of female sexuality' in which she said: 'If she can think about herself then she can be into it.'
The model said in response: 'This is so true, and it's because women have internalised the male gaze so much that when we're having sex we're thinking about how hot or not we are.
'It's kind of crazy that women are so used to seeing women sexualised and sexualising themselves that we're thinking of being sexualised during sex for lack of a better way of putting it.'
The My Body author married Bear-McClard in a civil courthouse ceremony in New York City, attended by their close friends, on February 23, 2018.
At the time, reports surfaced revealing that the pair had tied knot after just a few weeks of dating, but in November 2018 Ratajkowski set the record straight during an appearance on the talk show Busy Tonight.
She told host Busy Philipps: 'We knew each other for a long time before and he likes to joke "yeah everyone thinks we got married quickly, but you vetted me for two years."'
Ratajkowski wore an unconventional wedding outfit for her nuptials which comprised of a mustard-coloured suit from Zara and a black wide-brimmed hat, complete with a netted veil.
On the day of her wedding, she shocked fans by sharing photos from the big day to her Instagram stories and writing: 'Sooo, I have a surprise, I got married today [sic].'
The pair later honeymooned in Canyon Point, Utah and enjoyed a stay at the Amangiri Resort.
Ratajkowski previously discussed Bear-McClard's proposal on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon.
She revealed: 'He proposed to me at Minetta Tavern [in New York City], and he didn’t have a ring so I was like, "Mmm, nah."
'And then he took the paper clip that the bill was paid with and made me a ring, which I actually thought was really romantic.'
