Suki Waterhouse and Robert Pattinson sat the first big show of 2024's award season, the Golden Globes, out despite both having projects nominated.

The actress, whose limited series Daisy Jones & the Six was up for Best Limited Series, Anthology Series or a Motion Picture Made for Television, shared at the end of November that she was expecting the couple’s first child.

While her project did not win its category, but Pattinson’s, The Boy and the Heron, for which he did voice acting, did win Best Animated Feature Film. Still, neither was the face of the project or individually nominated, so their absences are understandable.

Waterhouse spoke in October 2023 about having just moved in with Pattinson six months ago on the Apple podcast Driven Minds: A Type 7. 'I’ve been having such a crushing weight of anxiety because I’ve moved,' she said. 'I wasn’t there for the move, so everything just got boxed up and sent.

Waterhouse shared that she lived alone before moving in with her partner of five years. 'It doesn’t feel like that much of a crazy thing,' she said. 'And I’m very lucky because he is so accepting of the mess and the chaos. He never says anything about it. He kind of thinks it’s like, charming. So I'm very lucky for that.'

Later in the interview, she spoke about meeting Pattinson after choosing to be celibate for six months as 'I’ve been ghosted and broken up with after dating someone for a year, that was pretty bad.' She had ignored several 'blinding red flags' and was dating people who were 'just cheating on you all the time.'

'It’s just something about taking away the chaos of receiving attention, having to deal with it and texting people and getting those lurches of excitement,' she shared, adding that her break from all that 'turned out to be great. I got very clear and got very comfortable with being by myself—then I ended up meeting my boyfriend.'
