On March 2, Sydney Sweeney hosted Saturday Night Live and of course that meant an appearance from her Anyone But You co-star Glen Powell. During her opening monologue, she addressed the rumours that she and Powell had a romance on set. It's something they've both had a pretty good sense of humour about despite the fact that Sweeney is engaged to producer Jonathan Davino.

'I’d say the craziest rumour I’ve seen is that while I was filming Anyone But You, I was having an affair with my co-star Glen Powell,' Sweeney started.

'That’s obviously not true. Me and my fiancé produced the movie together and he was there the entire shoot. And I just want to let everyone know that he’s the man of my dreams and we’re still together and stronger than ever. He even came here tonight to support me. Can we cut to him?'

The camera then panned to Powell seated in the audience.

'No, that's not my fiancé,' she insisted. 'He's in my dressing room!'

Sweeney then responded to a viral TikTok that alleged she lied about having worked at Universal Studios.

'I once said that I used to work at Universal Studios and then someone online accused me of lying about that, which is insane,' she said. 'If I didn't work there, how would I know all of the Universal characters, like Shrok, the Munions and Harry Porter?'

She also joked about the low box-office returns on her her superhero movie with Dakota Johnson, Madame Web. 'You might have seen me in Anyone But You or Euphoria,' she said. 'You definitely did not see me in Madame Web.'

Powell made another cameo appearance at the end of the show, in a sketch where Sweeney played a woman on a date in a very loud restaurant.

She finally manages to admit to her date that she's had an affair with her boss. Who's the boss? Powell, appearing at the very end to sweep her away.
