Commes Des Garçons designer Rei Kawakubo is designing two limited edition scarf collections for Hermès.
Unfortunately for us Brits, the first of the Commes des Carrés collections, which is named Noir et Blanc, will not be available in the UK, as it released exclusively in Tokyo, New York and Paris Commes Des Garcons stores. But the second collection Couleur will.
Made up of six colourful scarves in patchwork, Vichy checks and shirt stripes, the Couleur collection will be on sale at Londons Dover Street Market, hitting the shop floor in early February, and the scarves will retail between £300 and £1300.
I have always had an immense respect for the Hermès tradition and artisanal know-how, said Kawakubo of the French brand, which are the latest in a long line of companies the designer has worked alongside, following collaborations with Louis Vuitton, Azzedina Alaia and H&M.
