Less than two weeks after going public with her Canadian boyfriend, The Weeknd, on the Met Gala red carpet, where she was spotted canoodling, kissing, reportedly dropping the 'L-word' and sending secret messages to her fans about self-love, it appears there's no stopping Selena Gomez it comes to surprising her ever-loyal fanbase, if her latest Instagram post is anything to go by.

Last night, the 24-year-old shared three photos of a mirror, each with the words 'Bad Liar' written on them in what appears to be in purple and red lipstick.

However, the Texas-born actress-turned-singer posted the photos without captions, each resulting in over 1 million likes from her followers and suggestions 'Bad Liar' could be the name of her next single.

Now, from the looks of Selena and The Weeknd (real name Abel Makkonen Tesfaye) at the Met Gala, we have a feeling the words 'Bad Liar' won't refer to her 27-year-old beau, although, there is one person she might be sending a subtle/not-so-subtle message to (*cough* Justin Bieber).

I mean, Selena and Abel couldn't look more smitten if they tried, could they?

However, following the stellar success of Selena's Netflix series, 13 Reasons Why – on which she serves as executive producer – many of her fans are speculating 'Bad Liar' could be featured on the soundtrack to the second season of the show.

After all, several of the characters from the hit series accuse protagonist, Hannah Baker, of being a 'bad liar' throughout the show, according to her version of events described on the tapes*.

Now, of course, there's nothing to say Selena's latest Instagram posts have anything to do with new music, nor her hit Netflix programme.

However, earlier this month, the 'Can't Keep My Hands To Myself' singer took to Twitter to announce something big was coming for her fans.

What have you got up your sleeve, Selena?
