Days after releasing her latest single 'Wolves' with music producer Marshmello, the ever-modest Selena Gomez has taken the opportunity to celebrate her BFF Taylor Swift's new music, rather than focus on her own musical success.

Ahead of the release of Swift's hotly-anticipated album Reputation on 10 November, her 25-year-old best-friend weighed in on the Nashville's singer's edgy new musical direction.

'I obviously love her so much and want her to do what she does and she's killing it,' the 'Fetish' singer gushed to presenter Zane Lowe on Apple Music.

'It's everything you would want and more so very proud and obviously a major fan.'

Having already had an exclusive listen to the Grammy-award winner's new album, Gomez let fans into a little secret as to what to expect from the 27-year-old crooner.

It's everything you would want and more

'It's honestly so inspiring,' the singer added. 'It's really cool to surround yourself with people and be involved with people who are inspiring and changing the way that they dictate what they love—whether that's acting or music—and she's one of those people who continue to do that.'

Well, there's nothing better than having your best mate's approval on a passion project, right?

Discussing her own music for a second and her latest single in particular which focusses on chasing lost love, Gomez explained:

'For me this year, I wanted to find a different place. I wanted my music to be a lot more meaningful to be honest.

'That is kind of what I always searched for and I did a ton of records this year and last year as well. I just wanted to take my time.'

The singer, who is currently filming a new project with Woody Allen in New York, also revealed she has more music on the way for fans and has recorded two albums' worth of tracks.

'I'm ready. I want to get back in and re-focus on all of my music,' she said.

'To be honest, I feel like I have two albums already completed, but I'm wanting to figure it out. So it's a lot sooner than I think people anticipate. I want to call the shots, I want it to be good, I want to be ready, I don't want to do anything that's forced. It will be soon.'

Anyone else praying for a Gomez-Swift collaboration right now?

Cross all your fingers and toes, people.
