Back for a second year after a triumphant debut in 2016, this electronic shindig is very much a festival of two halves. By day, Brixton's Brockwell park becomes a big ol' underground dance love-in with the big-name DJs including Floating Points, The Black Madonna, Theo Parrish and Larry Heard AKA Mr Fingers bringing the beats. Then by night the festival invades London's edgiest venues, leaving you to choose where to party till dawn. Larry Heard at Brixton Electric, Madlib at XOYO or bass madness with 4Hero at Brixton Jamm? Decisions, decisions…

The Notting Hill Carnival: a party so huge that it can no longer be confined to one weekend. Which is why, this Sunday, we're being treated to one hell of a warm-up for the main event - with DJs, singers and (of course) a steel band bursting on to Portobello Green. Led by main man Leslie Palmer MBE (who helped to make Carnival the beast it is today), expect big beats, mean MCs, and Carnival vibes aplenty. Only with a much shorter queue for the loo.
