It's often said that Brixton is the nearest thing you can get to 1920s Shanghai. OK, OK, that's not strictly true – although it will be from now on, thanks to the newly relaunched dim sum lounge and speakeasy Courtesan. From the revamped menu (wasabi king prawn dumplings, wagyu and rib-eye bao, teriyaki tofu) to the subterranean cocktail den (where ingredients include lychee liquor, poppy liqueur and plum wine) to the velvet-bedecked booths and silk lanterns, this places oozes art-deco-meets-oriental glamour. Plus, its new series of 'Lates' kicks off this weekend, with northern soul DJs Noble & Heath. Which you probably didn't get in 1920s Shanghai, but hey.

London Fashion Week may be over, but despair not: there are yet more super-stylish goings- on down at Carnaby this weekend. Yes, there are discounts and offers at stores such as Office, Pepe Jeans, Camper and AQ/AQ (the list goes on) – but there's also a whole programme of special events. We're talking beauty demos of the LFW catwalk looks at Mac; hairstyling and nail art at True Religion; glitter roots, monogramming and doughnut-glazing art (blimey) at Sweaty Betty; cocktails at The Kooples… And best of all, events are F-R-E-E. Which just happens to be our favourite price.
