The minute I heard Mark's show theme tune - Salt-n-Pepa's Push It, I was transported back to 1980s Bromley. I'd just started experimenting with make-up and had one hell of a crazy perm! So when creating the look, I couldn't resist going the full make-up hog. It was out with the 'eyes or lips' rule and in with the 'eyes, lips and cheeks' liberation as we revived the kind of application techniques we would all have used while singing along to eighties anthems in front of our bedroom mirrors.
Mark believes that the woman wears the clothes - not the other way around. This season, his girl was the fun best friend you always wished you'd had - with gold grills on her teeth, huge hoop earrings and a wig so big it would make your hair curl!
So what about those eyes, lips and cheeks? We went back to 'diagonal contouring', swiping Maybelline's forthcoming Color Tattoo Gold Metallics in a forty-five degree line from the middle of the lid up to the brow. Mirroring the angle on the cheek, we went for it with the bronzer, patting the Crystal Pink Popstick over the top for a translucent ping of colour. With a slick of my favourite Color Sensational Lipstick in Intense Pink and a topcoat of gloss, we let lips drip with the spirit of the eighties. As for the look overall, I'm pretty sure we pushed it - pushed it real good
