preview for 'McQueen' documentary trailer

The first full trailer for the much-anticipated McQueen documentary has arrived and offers a compelling look at the designer's radical genius.

Having premiered at Tribeca Film Festival in April, the documentary looks at Alexander McQueen's personal and professional life and how he subverted fashion, creating some of the most boundary-breaking, exciting creations in industry history. Following on from a brief teaser released last month, the full trailer gives us a better idea of what to expect.

Through never-before-seen home movies, audio tapes and behind-the-scenes footage shot throughout his career, coupled with deeply personal interviews with friends and family, we're given an insight into the workings of the designer's mind. We're also taken back to his most unforgettable catwalk shows.

"If you leave without emotion, then I'm not doing my job properly," he says in the trailer. "I don't want you to walk out feeling you've just had Sunday lunch. I want you to be repulsed or exhilarated."

McQueen arrives in cinemas on 8 June.
