Meghan Markle Wears J. Crew Denim Midi Dress To Support Friend Serena Williams In US Open Final

Meghan Markle made a solo trip to New York over the weekend, leaving husband Prince Harry and baby Archie behind in the UK to pay her good friend and tennis pro Serena Williams a visit.

It's the new mother's first time in the city since Williams threw her a baby shower back in January. This time, it was Meghan's turn to show the love for Williams, who competed in the women's singles final of the US Open, taking on Canadian Bianca Vanessa Andreescu.

The 38-year-old looked stunning in a denim midi dress and grey collarless knitted blazer – both by US brand J.Crew – as she cheered on her bestie from the sidelines at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center.

The 38-year-old styled the look with a pair of aviator sunglasses by Victoria Beckham and a Sophie Ratner initial tag necklace.

Serena Williams was beaten 6-3 7-5 by Canadian 19-year-old Bianca Andreescu, making it the fourth Grand Slam finale she has lost in a row.

The Duchess of Sussex landed in the Big Apple earlier this week and even managed to squeeze in a yoga class on arrival in the US, sneaking into the Modo Yoga studio in the West Village with a fellow yogi friend

Markle looked visibly upset at the result, alongside Williams' husband Alexis Ohanian, but we're sure she is still immensely proud of her friend.

This isn't the first time the royal has attended the tennis to champion the 23-Grand Slam title holder. Markle made a surprise appearance at Wimbledon back in July to watch Williams take on Slovenian qualifier Kaja Juvan on day four of the tournament, winning serious good friend points in the process.

The tennis pro responded in kind, telling the press in a post-match interview that Markle, 'couldn't be a better friend to me. Low moments, high moments, she's always there and that's all I want to be to her'.
