We reported back in January that none other than the one, the only, the queen Meryl Streep was joining the cast of HBO's Big Little Lies for the second season, and now the first picture has finally surfaced—on Nicole Kidman's Instagram.

Streep will be playing Mary Louise Wright, the now deceased Perry's (Alexander Skarsgard) mother. So she's technically Celeste's (Nicole Kidman) mother-in-law, and after the death of her son, she's both curious about his passing and concerned for her grandchildren.

The picture shows the family of strawberry blondes cozied up in jammies on the couch watching something on an iPad. It's not clear whether they're in Celeste's ridiculously opulent but twinged with terror seaside home in Monterey, or whether they're at her new safe apartment, or somewhere different entirely.

Liane Moriarty, the author of the original book who wrote Streep's character with the actress in mind, told the Daily Telegraph: "She deeply loved her son…as much as any mother can love her son. She had a slightly fraught relationship with her daughter-in-law, so it’s a very complicated, difficult time."

Big Little Lies will premiere in 2019.
