It’s really great to see that investigative journalism is still alive and well. In a moment of true genius. Ben Henry and Ellie Bate of Buzzfeed have cracked the case of the century: how did Beyoncé change her nail colour mid Coachella set?
It’s the question that was on everyone’s lips after Beyoncé’s historic two-hour performance.
And whilst it was asked again, and again, and again, most of us were satisfied with the answer ‘it’s Beyoncé, she can do anything.’
And, whilst this is true, she did not, in fact change her nail colour mid set.
In fact she had different coloured nails for her dress rehearsal, which was photographed and used on her site and Instagram, than for her performance, which was filmed and partially professionally photographed.

And here is a photo from Getty which show black talons live from the evening.
So, as Ben and Ellie's theory goes, she did not actually change nails mid-performance, but the surfacing of different pictures from the dress rehearsal and the show made people believe that she'd somehow effected a quick nail transformation.
Case closed.
And she would have gotten away with it if it wasn’t for those pesky kids.
