Jenna Dewan (she's officially dropped the Tatum—at least on Instagram) stepped out for her first public appearance since news of her split from husband Channing Tatum broke.

On Friday night, Jenna was honoured as 2018 St. Jude Children's Research Hospital 'Humanitarian Of The Year' during the organisation's fifth annual St. Jude Hope & Heritage Gala in New York City.

Jenna has been a loyal supporter of St. Jude's for years and works consistently as an advocate for the hospital's pioneering research and lifesaving treatments. The event marks the first time she's stepped out publicly since her separation. She wore a black, floral, floor-length gown with a plunging neckline for the occasion and looking stunning as always.

She didn't attend the event alone though—Jenna brought her father, Darryll Dewan, as her guest for the night. Which, adorable, Jenna.

Jenna and Channing announced their separation/broke hearts around the world in early April with a joint statement posted to Instagram.

'We have lovingly chosen to separate as a couple,' they wrote. 'We fell deeply in love so many years ago and have had a magical journey together. Absolutely nothing has changed about how much we love each other, but love is a beautiful adventure that is taking us on different paths for now. There are no secrets nor salacious events at the root of our decision—just two best friends realising it's time to take some space and help each other live the most joyous, fulfilled lives as possible. We are still a family and will always be loving, dedicated parents to Everly. We won't be commenting beyond this, and we thank you in advance for respecting our family's privacy.'
