We all love a binge-watch on Netflix, but how about an ultra binge-watch?

Well, now those dreams could soon become reality, as it's being reported that Netflix is trialling a whole new level of subscription for its customers: Ultra tier.

So, apart from sounding fancy, what does this new Ultra tier do?

Italian publication Tutto Android is reporting that Ultra could join the original Base, Standard and Premium tiers at the price-point of €16.99 (which is about £15 – for now).

The new tier is apparently only available to select European customers at present, and comes in two versions – both of which affect the Premium tier.

One version of Ultra features the option to playback content on four screens simultaneously in UHD, with Premium downgraded to just two UHD screens, while the other offers HDR content only on Ultra, with Premium keeping its four UHD screens.

A Netflix spokesperson told CNET: "We continuously test new things at Netflix and these tests typically vary in length of time. In this case, we are testing slightly different price points and features to better understand how consumers value Netflix."

Digital Spy has reached out to Netflix for more information.

As well as (kind of) announcing a new way for subscribers to enjoy its content, Netflix has been rustling up some new TV series for us, picking up cancelled shows left, right and centre.

Earlier this week, it was announced that the streaming giant had picked up the axed Fox pilot Mixtape, ordering 10 episodes of the musical drama.

Mixtape's pilot was directed by GLOW and Orange Is the New Black veteran Jesse Peretz, and written by Gossip Girl's Joshua Safran, so yeah, we think it will feel right at home.

Also joining the Netflix cohort is the fourth season of Tom Ellis' Lucifer, which was controversially cancelled by Fox.
