Taylor Swift proved exactly why she earns the big bucks after a stage malfunction during one of her Reputation concerts resulted in her being suspended above the crowd in a giant sparkly cage.
The singer was in the middle of performing ‘Delicate’ when a behind-the-scenes glitch scuppered her plans to land on the opposite side of Philadelphia stadium in time with the beat.
TMZ were the first to report on the awkward moment, with the video footage serving up some serious inspiration on how to blag your way through life’s many ups and downs: “I'm pretty sure I'm stuck up here. It's a nice view, though,” she began.
“So, what you just saw was me going like straight up and down in this sparkly basket.
It's supposed to take me to the other side of the stadium. So, what happens now is basically I'm just chilling waiting to figure out what happens next."
Taylor decided to kill some time by playing an acoustic rendition of 2007 hit ‘Our Song’ and 1989 album track ‘Wildest Dreams’, before her team eventually managed to fix the cogs in the machine and get the cage back to where it was supposed to be.
On the plus side, it sounds like most fans were loving the unscheduled moment.
“Is Taylor stuck in the gold cage? Hope she doesn’t feel like a hostage to her feelings,” one concert-goer joked, as another said: “Lmaooo Taylor trying to play it cool while being confused AF as to why she wasn’t moving. I LOVE HER."
