In a new special performance and interview for BBC One, Ariana Grande opens up about her anxiety, saying one of the hardest parts about it is how unpredictable it can be.

"I almost feel guilty that I have it [anxiety] because it’s just in your head and it’s just so crazy how powerful it is," she said candidly. "You have ups and downs and sometimes you’ll go weeks at a time where you will be crushing it and there will be no anxiety…and then something will happen that can trigger it and then you have a couple of down days."

"It’s such an unpredictable thing," she added.

The past year-and-a-half have been anything but easy for Ariana. First, 22 people were killed after a terrorist attacked her Manchester concert. She split from Mac Miller in May, her boyfriend of two years, who later passed away in September from an alleged overdose. Most recently, she and fiancé Pete Davidson called it quits after what can only be described as a whirlwind romance.

Ariana filmed this special on the day Mac Miller died, according to Entertainment Tonight. In it, she said that the best advice she can give to others is to remember to lean on those around you.

"It takes hard work and practice and therapy and self-care—and so much love,” she said. “It’s just in your head and it’s just so crazy how powerful it is...The most important thing is to remember that…everybody has this. Talk to your loved ones, reach out to people, especially your friends online."

The "Ariana Grande at the BBC" special airs on Nov. 1.
