On a day where women were asked to wear day dresses and hats, Cara Delevingne wore a top hat and an Emporio Armani tuxedo complete with tailcoat. But Princess Eugenie wasn't surprised by Delevingne breaking the royal wedding dress code. Eugenie granted Delevingne permission to do so, Delevingne said.

The model told Grazia UK that she ran the idea by Eugenie before committing to it in the most causal of ways: text. "Eugenie has been a friend of mine since I was a kid and I've always wanted to wear tails," she told the outlet, via Hello!. "I texted her, as I wasn't sure about it and she was like: 'Of course, I expected nothing else from you!'"

Delevingne added that she was surprised by how surprised people were by her look for Eugenie's wedding. "I found it interesting how many people came up to me and said: 'You're so brave to wear that!'" she said. "I was like, really? I feel way more comfortable like this."
