Last week, The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences announced that Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga will take to the award ceremony's stage to perform a duet of the chart-topping, Oscar-nominated song "Shallow," from their movie, A Star is Born. And though many were excited to hear the news (because who wouldn't want to hear Cooper and Gaga perform as Jackson Maine and Ally!), Cooper is feeling a little apprehensive about his upcoming performance.

At Saturday's Director's Guild Awards in Hollywood, Cooper spoke with E! News about the upcoming performance and said "I'm sure I'll be terrified," despite the fact that he made a surprise onstage appearance at Gaga's Vegas residency to perform "Shallow" last weekend. It was the first time the duo had performed the song live.

To be fair, he was pretty nervous about that performance too. "That was terrifying," Cooper told interviewer Tamara Dhia. "I just had to, like, zen out and just pray that I wouldn't ruin her show. Because, think about it, she just crushed it for two hours....and I thought, 'Please let me just be on pitch.'"

Cooper is nominated for two Oscars: Best Actor and Best Adapted Screenplay. Gaga is nominated for Best Actress, while "Shallow" is nominated for Best Original Song. A Star Is Born was also nominated in the Best Picture category. To catch Cooper and Gaga's performance of "Shallow," be sure to tune into the award ceremony. The 2019 Oscars will take place on February 24, live from the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood on ABC at 8 P.M. EST.
