Though the red carpet outside the Royal Albert Hall will be graced by the crème de la crème of the film world, as well as royalty, this weekend for the 2019 BAFTAs, one person we won't see is Lady Gaga.

Despite being up for two awards: Leading Actress and Original Music, for her role in hit film A Star Is Born, Gaga will skip the show. She will instead attend the Grammy awards in Los Angeles which are taking place on the same night (Sunday 10 February).

Bazaar understands that a decision was made between both Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper to attend one event each, due to the clash.

This awards season, Gaga has already scooped Best Original Song at the Golden Globes, which she accepted in a stunning sky blue Valentino couture gown, and a joint Best Actress win with Glenn Close at the Critics' Choice Awards.

Over the years, the singer-songwriter has already amassed six Grammy awards and at this year's ceremony is up for a further five. She's also rumoured to be performing at the show on Sunday.

As well as Gaga's nominations at the BAFTAs - which will be hosted by Joanna Lumley - A Star Is Born is up for Best Film while Cooper is in contention for both Leading Actor, for his role as Jackson Maine, and Best Director.

The separation for stars of the film is short lived though, as they will be reunited for the Oscars - where A Star Is Born has received eight nominations - at the end of the month when they both take to the stage to duet "Shallows" in a live performance.
