Lena Headey is probably best known for playing the acid-tongued queen Cersei in Game of Thrones.
So it makes total sense that she had some sharp words for the troll who had the audacity to tell her to wear make-up. On her own Instagram page.
On Monday, the actress took to Instagram to share a video of herself sat on a plane just before a long flight, after a three-day press tour for her latest film, Fighting With My Family.
She informed her fans of her 'bonkers' jam-packed trip, saying she was 'super proud' of her new film and imploring them to 'go and f**king see it,' when it hits cinemas next week.
However, one troll had a problem with Headey's bare-faced look and decided to tell the world that they were not okay with it.
'Don't record yourself without makeup again please,' they replied underneath, disguised under the name of Hodor (another GOT character).
Obviously, Headey was unimpressed with this uninvited and cruel advice, and decided to post a screenshot of the comment, along with the pithy caption: 'I shall continue to not wear makeup. Go f**k yourself.'
Her response was liked by almost 140,000 people and received a litany of positive comments from fans. One fan wrote, "Thank you for not feeling required to wear make up every waking moment! Remember you have done amazing things with that face.”
'Does he know that he is speaking to queen Cersei? Has he lost his sense of fear?' another fan wrote.
Fellow Game of Thrones star Emilia Clarke, who plays Daenerys Targaryen, also waded in writing, 'PREACH BEAUTIFUL WOMAN,' whilst Carice van Houten who plays Melisandre, commented saying 'I get that too. F**K THAT . ❤️'
Unfortunately, Headey is not the first woman in the public eye to be condemned for not wearing make-up, and probably won't be the last. But as Maya Angelou famously said, 'Each time a woman stands up for herself, without knowing it possibly, without claiming it, she stands up for all women.'
