This is not a drill. A Britney Spears musical is now a thing. Heading to Broadway, 'Once Upon A One More Time' is a show that's populated with Britney's back catalogue of absolute bangers. Hands up who's excited?

Rather than being a show about her life, which we all know would have been a rollercoaster of a watch, the musical is about a book club made up of classic fairy tale princesses.

Cinderella, Snow White and Sleeping Beauty all on one stage singing Britney classics? This is noughties nostalgia at its best.

According to the book-writer, Jon Hartmere, "Cinderella is having an existential crisis, and she has a posse of famous princesses, and her stepmother is the main antagonist, and there’s also Prince Charming and a dwarf we’ve never met — the eighth dwarf — and a narrator who is unhappy his system is being dismantled before his eyes."

Sounds both complex and wonderful.

Britney herself is on board too, having reportedly been in attendance to some of the earlier meetings and workshops about the musical.

"I’m so excited to have a musical with my songs – especially one that takes place in such a magical world filled with characters that I grew up on, who I love and adore," Britney has said about the show. "This is a dream come true for me!"

The production is scheduled to open in Chicago this autumn, before transferring to Broadway. It better then hop across the pond, that's all we're saying.
