The world fell in love with Rami Malek and Queen all over again when biopic Bohemian Rhapsody came out in theatres last year. Malek, who played the effervescent, larger-than-life band leader, Freddie Mercury, captured hearts with his striking resemblance to the late singer and won multiple awards for his spot-on portrayal of Mercury in the process.

Now, there appear to be talks of a possible Bohemian Rhapsody sequel. In an interview with Page Six, Rudi Dolezal, director of multiple Queen music videos, says that the band’s manager, Jim Beach, would be interested in a follow-up to the film. “I’m sure he plans a sequel that starts with Live Aid,” said Dolezal, adding that a second film is currently “being heavily discussed in the Queen family.”

This piece of information is a good sign. Beach was the producer responsible for bringing Bohemian Rhapsody to life. The film grossed over $870 million worldwide, won four Oscars in February, and has prompted a resurgence of popularity for the band as a whole.

Brian May, Queen’s legendary guitarist, previously expressed the possibility that there could be more to come of the band’s story. In an interview he did last November about the original film, he said, “I think Live Aid is a good point to leave it. Who knows, there might be a sequel."

While fans wait for an official confirmation on if a sequel will happen, Dolezal revealed to Page Six that he’s currently in the process of writing a book titled My Friend, Freddie, and will later release his personal interviews with Mercury in a film called Freddie Mercury: In His Own Words.
