Once upon a time two years ago, The Weeknd was dating Selena Gomez, and there was a lot of drama with Gomez and The Weeknd unfollowing his then-ex-girlfriend Bella Hadid on Instagram that March. (Hadid unfollowed Gomez first, in January 2017, right after photos of Gomez and The Weeknd kissing came out.)
But those hard feelings have long past, Hadid made clear this afternoon. Hadid, who's been dating The Weeknd for over a year now, very publicly supported Gomez by liking a photo of her Instagram. (And so did Orlando Bloom's ex Miranda Kerr, lest you forget all that Orlando Bloom-Justin Bieber-Miranda Kerr-Selena Gomez drama of even further back.)
Bella Hadid liked a photo Gomez's makeup artist Hung Vanngo shared of Gomez making her Cannes Film Festival debut. Hadid is a veteran of the Cannes Film Festival, so she knows firsthand what it's like to be at that festival and walk the red carpet.
Gomez and The Weeknd ended things in October 2017. But both are doing well now. A source told Entertainment Tonight earlier this month that things are going wonderfully for Gomez. "She’s happy, healthy and doing great. She’s happy to just be with friends," the source said. (Gomez is also friendly with Hadid's sister Gigi Hadid. Gomez and Gigi Hadid were photographed hugging and having a moment at last year's Met Gala.)
The Weeknd and Hadid, meanwhile, first sparked reconciliation rumors at a Cannes Film Festival after party in 2018. Now, they're super serious and living together. A source told Us Weekly in November that an engagement could even happen and that "a proposal is on the horizon." Hadid and The Weeknd are "madly in love with each other," the source added.
It's unclear whether Hadid will be at this year's Cannes Film Festival, which just began today. But she was at last year's.
