As legendary as George Clooney is, it's his wife Amal Clooney that we're a little bit obsessed with. And we think George might have clocked on.

The 58-year-old actor has taken to social media to promote a new competition, giving fans an opportunity to have a double date with himself and his 41-year-old wife all in the name of charity.

By using the Omaze platform the couple are fundraising for their Clooney foundation, which campaigns for human rights.

In a video on Instagram, the actor details to camera the set up of the double date in Lake Como, only for a voice off camera to reiterate that what the fans really care about is meeting his kick-ass wife, not him.

'That's right, to benefit the Clooney Foundation For Justice, we're inviting you and a guest to go on a double date with Amal, a world-renowned human rights lawyer, law school professor and a leading thinker on the concept of justice throughout the world and me... an actor', Clooney begrudgingly states.

This adorable clip (in which the father-of-two is clearly joking) comes days after he detailed the serious danger his wife's impressive and crucial human rights work has put him and his family in.

'Everything changes when you have two kids on how you have to protect them,' he told The Hollywood Reporter's Awards Chatter podcast. 'My wife is taking the first case against Isis to court, so we have plenty of issues — real, proper security issues — that we have to deal with on a fairly daily basis. We don't really want our kids to be targets, so we have to pay attention to that.'

Looks like the Ocean's 8 star is as in awe of Amal as the rest of us then.
