Karlie Kloss got a little political in her British Vogue interview, speaking about what it has been like being a fervent Democrat but related by marriage to President Donald Trump's senior presidential advisor Jared Kushner and his wife, Trump's daughter and advisor Ivanka Trump. Karlie's husband is Jared Kushner's younger brother Joshua Kushner.
It's a challenge, Karlie said. 'It’s been hard,' she started. 'But I choose to focus on the values that I share with my husband, and those are the same liberal values that I was raised with and that have guided me throughout my life.'
Karlie's confession to British Vogue isn't the first time she has addressed her ties to the Trump presidency. She spoke to The New York Times last September about it, where she made the same point: She and her husband are liberal.
'Josh and I share a lot of the same liberal values that guide our lives and the things we stand for,' she said, similar to how she phrased her response in her British Vogue interview now. 'We’ve really grown together personally and professionally [over our six years dating]. Josh knows that I’m just a nerdy, curious human being. I think that’s why he loves me. We have each other’s back.'
People reported on June 24 that Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner weren't at Karlie and Josh's recent Wyoming weekend wedding celebration for their friends. (The two married in upstate New York last fall.) Ivanka and Jared did see Karlie and Josh in Wyoming though, multiple sources told the outlet. But they visited Thursday night, the day before Karlie and Josh's festivities started. Their wedding party ran from Friday to Sunday.
